Daisy Anniversary

Hi Folks!
Just a quick post today.
Made this card for my daughter and hubby for their anniversary.

I cut out the petals with an oval punch, then layered them onto the gold card stock and cut around them.  "Congrats" is a die from Lawn Fawn.

Bye for now & hope you have a lovely day!

New baby!

Hello everybody!
I'm happy to let you know that my new grandson will be here very soon.  Thought I would share what I've been up to this afternoon.
Here it is......

I purchased the animal clipart from Dollar Graphics Depot, only $1.  I used my Memory Mixers program to position each of them & adjust their sizes.  The *congrats* is a lawn fawn die.

Surprise!  It's a pop-up card!
I printed and cut out smaller versions of the animals and also added a couple of clouds. (Paper Smooches *cute clouds* die)
The *Baby* sentiment is from Create with is on the right.

Well, that's all for now, I'll post some pics of the new arrival in the next few days.
I do hope you'll come back & visit soon.

Congrats New Gran & Granpa!

Hi there!
My good friend and her hubby have just welcomed their first grandbaby adorable little girl.
Heres the card I made for them.

The polka dot background paper with the soother, the bow and the baby in the crib were all free downloads from here
I cut an extra of the baby & crib, embossed it to give it some roundness and popped it up with pop dots.

The hearts are cut with my stitched hearts die.

I used my Memory Mixers program to print the greeting on the bib, also a freebie from the same site........then fussy cut it out.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit....... hope you'll come back soon.

Braided Card

Hi there!
Hope you are having a good day.
Today I have a new card to show you.  I found this style of card on Pinterest, which led me to this tutorial by Brandy Cox.  This technique looks difficult, but it is actually very easy.

The background is embossed with a chevron folder from *We are Memory Keepers*  I used *Cheery Lynn Designs* dies for the flowers (Small Tea Rose), banners (Horizon Fishtail Banners) and sentiment.  For the flowers I just layered the petals for a daisy look rather than make a rose.
Here's a closer look

The ovals are punched out.

......and a look at how the braiding looks on the inside of the card.

A note on cutting out small items with dies, such as the *Hello* here.
To make it easier to stick it to my project, before I cut it out, I attach my paper to a piece of double sided adhesive sheet, such as this.  (double sided tape will work just as well for smaller dies)

I then cut it out, peel off the backing and stick it onto my project. So much easier and does a much nicer job than using glue on those tiny pieces.

Well, that's all for now, thanks for visiting my blog today & hope you'll come back soon!

In the meantime.....

Back to School!

Hi all!

I made this card today to enter into *The Shabby Tearoom* challenge.  The theme is *ABC-123*  and here is their inspiration picture.

My take for this theme is a box card

I found the apples, pencil and chalkboard clipart online, they were free.  I stamped the sunflowers on yellow card stock, then cut them out.  I used my Copics to add a little orange & brown to them, but they look more orange than yellow on here.  I added *back to school* on the chalkboard in my Memory Mixer program.  Here's some more pictures.

Thanks for dropping by, hope you have a lovely day!

New Home!

Just a quick post tonight.
I made this card today for a young family friend who has just moved into his first you can see, his name is Hunter.  By the way, the house looks a bit pink on the picture, but it's red.

The house & mailbox are digi images I found online for free.  The trees and clouds are dies.  I made the looks a little wonky, but that's how I wanted style!  I popped up the trees and mail box for a little dimension.
Hope he likes it!

That's all for now, hope you'll come back soon.
Have a good night!

Dogwood Flower Card

Hello Friends!

Hope this finds you all well.  I have been playing with some new stamps and this dogwood flower is one of them.

I stamped the image onto vellum with black Memento ink.  When it was completely dry I turned it over and with my embossing tool I burnished the flowers, which breaks down the fibres and turns white.  When you turn it over the black inked lines are still visible....such a neat & fun technique.  I then coloured the leaves with my Copics, glued the image down onto the embossed green paper and then added the Die-namics *Cross stitch oval* frame.  This is a simple, easy & quick card to make.

On another note, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I won the Shabby Tea Rooms *Summer Picnic* challenge with this card...

Hope you have a great day!

*Cottage in the Woods*

Today when I picked up my mail at the post office, what a nice surprise!  My order from Simon Says Stamp was in.  I wasn't expecting it until next week.  They really outdid themselves this time. This *cottage in the woods* die from Memory Box was one of the goodies I received.  Of course, I had to play right away!

I hand cut some more hills and layered them with the die cut in front.  To darken up the sky a little I used chipped sapphire distress ink, leaving part of it lighter for a little moon glow....  I didn't do a great job with this, but hopefully I'll get better with practice. Then I punched out the moon and inked it a little bit with antique linen distress ink.  I also rounded it slightly with my embossing tool and just glued around the edge.  Then I added the sentiment and some stars with a white gel pen.  I added a little *wink of stella* (also in my package today) to give them a bit of shine.

Hope today was a good day for you, come back soon!
