My New Ribbon Storage +

The other day I posted what I thought was a great idea to store ribbon spools, go here to see what it was.

Pretty ugly eh?  It's a dollar store toilet plunger.
Well, it didn't work anyway 'cause it wouldn't stick to my work desk and it wouldn't even stand up straight with the ribbon on.

It did give me an idea though - to make something like a paper towel holder - only taller to hold more ribbon, and with a bigger base to hold little jars for buttons, brads, glitter (the jars have a sprinkle top inside) etc. etc.  The jars stay in place because they are recessed into the base.  I talked my hubby into making one for me, and this is the result.

I'm going to try it and see how I like it.

Oh, were you wondering what happened to my plunger?

Here it is...in the bathroom.

I think it will do a much better job holding toilet paper.  hee! hee!

Have a great evening and I hope you'll come back soon to see what's new.

Ooooh! I love this! You could get a little business going for hubby! Crafters everywhere will line up for this one.
I thought the toilet plunger was quite funny. It does work quite well as a tp holder! I love the jars in the current ribbon holder!

Hi Guys, thanks for your comments. Glad you like the ribbon holder. This one was just a trial, but we are going to try making them to sell, we have a few more ideas for scrapbook storage too, so we'll see how it goes, My hubby is a carpenter & he loves to keep busy, esp. on good days, so these would be ideal for him to do right now.
Bye guys, so nice to hear from you all.
Luv & Hugs,
Babs

This is such a great idea and your hubby did a fab job. I like the little recesses in the base and the pretty top.
The 'prototype' has been put to good use too. :-))
