*Colour Me pretty* and a Red Rose

This is the first card I've made for a while.  I'm entering it into the Shabby Tea Room challenge - *Colour me Pretty*
The requirements are to use white, cream, pink & blue, fabric and a flower.

Here's the inspiration photo....

Now I want to show you a flower that I just made from ric rac.  I came across a tutorial, and couldn't wait to try it.

Another view...

I used 3/8" wide ric rac....the wider the ribbon the bigger your rose will be.

Here is the link for the tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Have a nice day!

Cute Crochet Bows

Hi everyone!
I came across these cute crocheted bows on Pinterest, & just had to give them a try. They are super easy to make and could be used for a number of projects, i.e. on a hat, headband or even on a card...which is how I'm going to use them. I would have wrapped black yarn around the middle of some of them, but I don't have any.  You could also omit the yarn wrap and add a button or nice gem to the centre.
I found an easy to follow video tutorial on Youtube.  Go here if you'd like to give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by today, now go and check out the video & have fun making your own bows!

Some Oldies

It's been a while since I posted anything, I've been busy with other things, but I also found that I was spending a little too much time blogging and not enough on other important aspects of my life.
I haven't made any cards lately, so thought I'd share a couple of projects I did some time ago.

First, is an exploding box I made for my hubby for our anniversary.

 Sorry about the poor picture.
I wanted it to look sort of traditional, then when he opened it, this is what is inside....

This is the first xploding box I made and it was made quite a few years ago before I started using Copics, so they are pictures that I purchased online.  Also there's a pocket to hold a Home Depot gift card.  He loves tools!

Another Xploding Box........

This was made for our son and daughter in law.

Another one.......
this time for my Grandaughter.

The little box held a necklace.

Now for something different, this is a coffee filter recipe book, fun to make & my first mini album.  I decorated with a set of themed graphics which I purchased.

That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
Have a wonderful day, bye for now....

Friend Card

Here's my latest card.
My base card is 5 x 7 cream cardstock.  On top of that I layered the blue dotted designer paper, after punching along the edge using a M.S. punch.  I then added the floral paper.  Next came the lace and a strip of dotted blue, which I first folded.  Then the blue string tied in bows with the roses on top.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts clear stamp.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
If this is your first time here, have a look at the older posts, there's lots more to see.
Have a super day,

I Love Country!

Does this look familiar?

I have used some of the elements that I have on my blog design.

My blog background is from *Cutest Blog on the Block*, but since there was no header to go with it, I purchased the kit so that I could make my own header.

Below is the cute card that inspired me...

I saw it at Scrapbook.com

After seeing this I wanted to do a *country* card.
I really do love *country* and roosters....I have a few of them around my home.  I thought that these backgrounds etc would work perfectly.
I did a patchwork background and stitched around the edges, except for the one on the lower right, which I distressed.  The edges of all four are inked with distress ink.  The rooster is embossed to round him out a bit, and then stuck on with pop dots.  Ribbon & buttons from my stash.  I didn't add a sentiment yet.  Sometimes I don't until I know who I'm giving it to, then I can add something appropriate.

A closer look...

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

X's & O's

Good morning everyone!

This is a *swing* card - aka  *flip flop* card, which I made for friends who are celebrating their 30th anniversary.  Woo Hoo, good for you!

It's the first one of this type I've ever made, well, not if you count the ones I made and threw away.  I was trying to make a bigger one, because I thought this one was a bit small, but none of them worked out.....maybe because I've been bugged with a flippin' flu bug all week!

Here's the other side....
My message is written on the back.

Hope it's a wonderful day for you.
